Cameroon, Africa

In 2005, a team of three from Providence Calvary Chapel, led by Julius Eta, traveled to Cameroon to share the gospel at Eyanchang, the village of his grandfather. Julius is a citizen of Cameroon who attended our church before moving to Ohio in 20011.  During that trip, a Bible study group was established in Eyanchang and a neighboring village.  Also, the team formed a relationship with a dear brother, Pastor Israel Ndongoh, whose church is in the city of Limbe.

Since the initial trip, Providence has sent other teams, as well as about 1,000 Bibles, Bible study materials, reading glasses, school supplies for the village schools, and soccer balls and uniforms for village youth soccer teams.  Our church provided funds for the construction of the roof for Pastor Israel’s church before a rainy season.  Today, there are about 12 villages that have churches and Bible study groups that consider Providence Calvary Chapel their parent church.  We currently sponsor periodic trips by Pastor Israel to teach, encourage, and strengthen the precious believers in the villages.

Please pray for Pastor Israel and the believers in Cameroon, that the gospel would continue to spread to more villages, and that the believers would continue to grow in God’s grace and love.
